چکیده
A recent investigation explored a new measuring concept used in partial discharges (PD) measurements gas insulated substations (GIS), consisting of magnetic loop antenna. The sensor’s frequency response was characterized up to some tens MHz. This paper proposes an improved version the sensor with extended bandwidth (BW) one order magnitude higher: resonance, attributed common mode current mounting hole, is identified and eliminated employing ferrite beads feeder cables. Moreover, this publication electric circuit model that fully covers transverse electromagnetic (TEM) range GIS. compared against experimental using 1 GHz testbench, giving accurate results. Two contributions are achieved research: antenna model. paves way for further research on time resolution signal postprocessing techniques antennas

New mitigation methods for transient overvoltages in gas insulated substations
During switching of disconnectors (DS) in GIS a varying number of pre-strikes and re-strikes occur. Due to the very short duration of the voltage collapse, traveling surges are generated in the busbar duct. These very fast transient overvoltages (VFTO) can become the limiting dielectric stress which defines the dimensions at UHV voltage levels. The decision shall be based on the maximum VFTO pe...

This study presents the manner in which transient modeling concepts, which are fully analyzed in the referred standards, are implemented, for the purpose of evaluating the Transient Ground Potential Rise (TGPR). This is a phenomenon of 10–100kV voltages with up to 10μs duration on the grounded enclosure of Gas Insulated Substations (GIS), which may cause concern for personnel safety and problem...
متن کاملDisturbance Elimination for Partial Discharge Detection in the Spacer of Gas-Insulated Switchgears
With the increasing demand for precise condition monitoring and diagnosis of gas-insulated switchgears (GISs), it has become a challenge to improve the detection sensitivity of partial discharge (PD) induced in the GIS spacer. This paper deals with the elimination of the capacitive component from the phase-resolved partial discharge (PRPD) signal generated in GIS spacers based on discrete wavel...

متن کاملUHF Signal Processing and Pattern Recognition of Partial Discharge in Gas-Insulated Switchgear Using Chromatic Methodology
The ultra-high frequency (UHF) method is widely used in insulation condition assessment. However, UHF signal processing algorithms are complicated and the size of the result is large, which hinders extracting features and recognizing partial discharge (PD) patterns. This article investigated the chromatic methodology that is novel in PD detection. The principle of chromatic methodologies in col...
